Hull International Photography Festival 2016
This is a ‘shout out’ for the Hull International Photography Festival taking place in the city during October. The gallery displays are free, and a series of talks, lectures, practical workshops, master classes and other events are available to book for the cost of a £15 Festival wristband (can be used to access events throughout the month).
TPOTY at HIP – a brilliant and inspiring display, definitely, definitely worth a visit!
The centrepiece of the Festival galleries (until Tues 25 October) is the Travel Photographer of the Year exhibition at Princes Quay.
The full exhibition of the 2015 winning images from the Travel Photographer of the Year competition (affectionately known as “tea potty” from the acronym TPOTY) is on display on the ground floor (Harbour Deck) of the shopping centre. It is a brilliant and inspiring display.
After being blown over by the exhibition on the Harbour Deck at Princes Quay, the ‘wow factor’ continues; the winners of the TPOTY competition 2015 are actually displayed in the HIP Gallery (one of the shop units on the same ground floor at Princes Quay).
Just for the TPOTY exhibition alone, the HIP Photography Festival is definitely, definitely worth a visit!
The HIP Photography Festival takes place in several venues during October; Princes Quay (three galleries), Kardomah 94, St. Mary’s Church, Hull Central Library, Bransholme Library, Hull Western Library (Hessle Road), and the Fred Moore Library (Wold Road).
See the TPOTY Exhibition – then take it home with you! Book – A collection of the images (£9.95).
